Who We Are

We started Ecotone with a simple objective: Make microgrid development easier and less expensive by reducing early stage risk.

In biology an Ecotone is the boundary between two ecosystems.  These are places like the edge of a field and a forest, or a water and land. Places where biological activity flourishes have what is called an edge effect.  As the edge effects increase, the boundary habitat allows for greater biodiversity.

Over the past 15 years I have worked all pretty much all sides of distributed energy.  From Technology vendor, developer, financier, constructor to software vendor, I have seen first hand how difficult and at times misaligned projects can be.
